Power a Raspberry Pi from a computer monitor power supply.

Hi,

I have a Philips 190BL1CB 19" LED PC monitor that I want to connect a raspberry Pi 3 to but I don't want to have two power supplies. What's the best way to power the 5v Pi board from the power supply to the monitor.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

you are going to have to show us photos of the PSU board inside the monitor looking to see if there are any 5V rails or maybe a
12V rail that can be dropped to 5V through a regulator

a schematic for the monitor

Hi, have attached an image of the board (sorry about the quality, the camera on a surface pro doesn't seem to be that great. Also attached the datasheet for the monitor.

Thanks

OK, you need to look at those 3 sets of pins down the right side of the board and see if any are labelled +5V

Hi,

The only one that has a 5v supply is the one in the pictures attached. It is connected to the board that has the lvds to the monitor. Whats the best/safest way to utalise that 5v for the Pi 3 board?

Thanks
