Recently I found my old TI-82 calculator, but it didn't work. I think it was something to do with dead lines on the LCD, but I may be wrong. I had heard of a method that involved dismantling the device and using a soldering iron, but I was too scared to try that.
I thought of trying something easier instead. I set a radiator to full heat, put a towel over it and put the calculator on top, face down. I left it like that for approximately two days (checking it every few hours), and suddenly, it worked perfectly! :-D
DISCLAIMER:
I have no idea if this method already exists, or if the calculator had a different problem that the method fixed.
I've only tried this once, so do it at your own risk!
