Please Help?? Easy One ??

I need a copy of the prom inside a vista 20p. I took my alarm system out
a while ago and wanted to install it and the Pitway chip is missing. I
have blanks but not the file. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

I could be wrong but I don't think thats a standard prom

you are correct it is actually a micro controller of the 8051 family.
But i still need the hex or bin file that goes on it.

I have a brand new Vista20P board with me.

What kind of equipment do I need inorder to extract the bin from the
microcontroller ?

you need a prom reader, Like a Emp-20 or anything else that will read
the micro.

Thanks man, so what chip should I set my programmer to ? Don't really want
to fry a perfectly good cheap you know. I will have to check my device
support list and see if the chip is supported by my programmer.

The device manufacturer is ATMEL
the device is ts87c51rd2-mcb (in board)
you can probably just tell the programmer the chip is a 87c51
just do a read device (into buffer) and then save the file as a bin or
hex (possibly intel hex)
