I got a power supply from work out of the recycle bin. This is the one I have. I connected 110v to it and there is no voltage on the output side. I will take it apart and do some testing to see what I can find. I have taken it apart once but just to see if the fuse was good and it was. I think this unit retails for around $900 so I think it would be worthwhile to repair if possible. I did a quick look over and found that the small filter caps on the output are swelled. I am wondering if the transformer on that side is bad. The caps are 35v 1200uf and there are 4 of them. The large caps look to be ok. They are 420v 390uf.
I am starting this thread for reference. I also would like input for what to look for and tips on troubleshooting these things. I do know that when working with this type of equipment that safety is paramount. Large caps can hold charge for a long time and are lethal.
