Bullet:
Try cleaning it again.... and again......
.....Stubborn head clogs can be just that.... "stubborn"
The reason you may be seeing a movie play OK and that a recording is not OK
is most likely because you are playing a movie at the SP speed and you are
trying to record a program at the SLP or EP (6 hour) speed. A different
set of video heads is used for each of those two speeds...... a 4 head VCR
only uses one set of 2 heads for normal recording and playback operations
for each speed..... so if your trying to record a program at the 6 hour
speed and it doesn't work it is could be that there is still a dirty set of
heads..... could be other things of course, but the first and most simple
thing to do is to clean the heads again. You may want to go to the website
for this newsgroup at
http://www.repairfaq.org/
There, with some searching you will find a wealth of VCR information
including the PROPER and SAFE cleaning procedures. Be careful, the video
heads can be easily broken or damaged.
Clean it again..... or have it professionally cleaned by a shop..... and or
"hands-on" evaluated by a tech for a repair cost estimate so you can make an
intelligent repair decision with fact instead of internet guesses.
