Philips TV SSB-module question

Hi everyone,
I've a Philips TV chassis A10E model 32PW6305, using the SSB module
original reference 3139 178 64241 WD10B in my shop.
It came in cause it operated very unstable, suddenly weren't able to
change channels and adjust volume and so on.
The cure for this seems always to be to replace the Painterchip.
The software version inside the new chip were A10EP1-2.0, and the old
A10EP1-1.3, but both seems compatible with each other since the
uProcessor didn't need to download new software, and this indicate
that the NVM signature is the same. (memory positions where data is
stored, geometry, AFC and so on)
Well, when accessing the SAM (service alignment mode) the option codes
displayed is now: 126 23 63 140 0 0 0 0, on the CRT-sticker it says:
123 23 47 140 0 0 0 0. The set also displays an error code 13.

Question 1:
Must I change the option codes?

Question 2:
The problem is the set won't pass the video signal from any of the
ext-inputs to the screen. Only the sound is heard, but the screen is
all black.
It still senses when any of the scart's is used, and will change to it
accordingly.
So, could this be an underlying problem caused by painterchip (wrong
optioncodes, etc..) or could this mean the TDA8885H videoprocessor be
bad?
This IC is going pretty hot, but i don't know if that's normal or not.
The strange thing is that it passes the video signal generated by the
tuner/IF stage, but not any external. This tells me the ic ok, since
this video signal is put to one of the inputs of the videoswitch part
in the ic.

I would appreciate any advice here,

Best regards
Stefan

Hello, Stefan,

My experience with this chassis, and others from Philips too, is that
you must adjust the option code accordingly to the sticker on the
picture tube. They are numbers wich are specific for the possibilities
of the type of the tv and the remote control and the number of scarts
(ext in/out)

So this is the first thing I would do, if you are certain that the
replaced parts are the correct ones.

This change of options codes happens frequently when the picture tube
flashes. I had to replace it sevaral times.

The IC is usually pretty hot, I think this is normal.

Lots of luck,

Alain
