I had a defective Philips DECT phone and the hanset kept blanking out and
turning off. A search in the net showed that I was not alone, but only cure
that I saw, was to replace the batteries.
The problem lies inside the handset. The microprocessor has many dry solder
joints that make the phone do weird things.
I reheated each leg on the chip with a needle point soldering iron to remelt
the solder.
This has cured the problem and the phone has worked well for a week now!
