Person needed to build a chess computer using our chess software

We are a small chess company looking to build a top flight desktop chess computer similar to the Novag Citrine. We have an offer of xboard chess software already - so we need someone to take that software, consult with the software developer, emulate the code onto a chip and build the electronics to make it work. We'll have a full specification obviously before anyone starts.

Payment can be according to an agreed schedule.

The person needs to be in the UK or in Canada. The reason for this is that our business has two main branches - they're in both those two countries, and we'd rather oversee it by occasional visits. It may be possible for some other countries too - it depends on the response.

The chess computer we plan will be one using a significant powered chip able to manage the instructions and memory needed for the software.

Although an electronics company could do this - we'd rather a person with experience do it as a hobby prototype. Any tools needed (emulator, etc) will be funded for you. There are rich rewards for the right person to help us with the right product, although much of the reward will come when sales of the product come - which we're 100% confident of.

Xboard is open source software which acts as a front end for a chess engine to interface a computer display. The Novag Citrine is an electronic chessboard with physical chess pieces. In your design concept, what part is physical and what part is displayed on a screen? Is there a chess engine involved, or is this for a game between two persons?

Laplace - the software we have an offer to use is a chess engine. Thanks for your correction. We will be building a chess computer similar to the Citrine - it won't have a display other than the type used by the Citrine and others - an LCD readout. We'll also be using physical pieces. It's a chess computer - therefore one person plays the game against the computer.
