Part that looks like a resistor with only code CEC

Hi folks,

Had a problem with a toy grade RC truck steering that quit working and taking apart the steering box I found that the basic 180 steering motor was connected to two parts that look like resistors with the only code CEC, one of them having a broken connection. Are those parts resistors? And then why use resistors on this application? Can I simply get rid of them two ?

Thanks lot!

who knows ?? show us some sharp and well lit pictures :)

get rid of whatever they are ?? .... they were obviously designed to be in there for a reason ;)

for a start lets just identify the components

cheers

There is an inductor manufacturer called CEC and you describe the perfect location for noise suppressing inductor/chokes.

There may be more than the 'CEC' marking, on the other side of the devices that will supply more information on the component's identity.
Barring that, is the 'broken connection' just a detachment? Can you resolder the connection using a soldering iron (are you familiar with their use?)
Good luck on the repair. Sounds like the rough ride caused the broken connection. Maybe it can be repaired.
