Old motor from old walkman (how many volts does it handle?)

Hi Everybody!

I am very new to the forum and very new to the world of electronics as well. I just started learning the world of electronics, and also started learning soldering. As a starter I choose to desolder the components of a very old walkman I found in our garage.

I desoldered the motor which rotated the tape of the cassette, but have no clue what kind of motor it is. If I would like to reuse it how would I know, what voltage to apply to it? The walkman works with two AA batteries (this makes 3V alltogether, right?). So how do I know how many voltage can apply to it?

I tried to decipher the writing on the motor but no luck. :(

Please help if you can!
Thank you very much in advance

Hi Bob!

Thank you for your quick reply. I was wondering that there are so many components (resistors, conductors, etc)... They also should drain some voltages.. Or I am wrong?

The voltage does not divide up among the various components. If you turn on two lamps at home, does each one get half as bright?
