I have a mangnavox mc3511 camera im trying to fix at work. The picture is all whited out so i guess its letting too much light in. Interested in any input here, its an old cctv camera we just use to see whos walking in the place
any of the few that are for sale are usually not tested and have problems. Any of the replacements are also 30 years old. Was just wondering how fixable these things are, wouldnt hurt to fix a broken one to have a spare.
Given the cameras are based on vidicon tube technology and the chances that the tube is defective/gone soft you could spend time looking around the circuitry (clamping/black level circuit) - which will require an oscilloscope as a bare minimum - but without experience of such things and lacking a schematic (I can't find one anywhere) you're setting yourself a difficult task.

I'm missing the cable that goes from the camera to the monitor for my ancient
magnavox mc3511. Please let me know if you would sell me a cable if you have not been able to fix the issues with your system. Thanks, Jeffrey
