I have an outdoor GFCI outlet that seems to work fine. But I just plugged in a power warsher with its own GFCI in the plug. Per the instructions, conducted the test/reset procedure on the portable GFCI. It worked BUT seems to cycle through the test phase repeatedly every few seconds, accompanied by a disconcerting growling noise. The red idiot light goes on and off of course. I haven't tried actually using the power washer yet, because this doesn't feel normal to me. Just wondering what the problem might be. As you might expect, the manual with the power washer, and the mfg. website is totally silent on this issue. Any ideas?
