New house...wired IR sensor...need help

We just bought a house and I finally have a space to set up a media room. The previous owners have everything wired...I just need to buy a long awaited, much wanted/needed AV receiver so I can complete my system.

On top of properly wiring the room with speaker and HDMI cables, the previous owner also ran an IR sensor/repeater. I’ve taken/attached a few photos to illustrate what I’m working with. The sensor on the wall, the hub behind the wall plate, the wire grouping behind the media cabinet and a closer photo of the end of one wire.

My question is regarding the bare wires that need to be plugged into each device (receiver, cable box, etc..). It appears when he moved out the previous owner just snipped off his connections. What do I need to do in order to properly wire each of these so that I can plug them into my units? You can see he has each wire labeled but the end of each wire has obviously been cut.

It would appear that the cut ends would have simply terminated in IR LED emitters that would be placed in front of the appropriate equipment IR ports.

They may or may not require series resistors too.

Suggest you wire a 'basic' IR LED emitter with a 1k series resistor and see if it works, reversing the polarity if it doesn't. This is the simplest way to 'prove' the theory.
 
In my house, the emitters plug into a small control box that is powered by an ac adaptor and the wiring to the ir receiver (black wall plate thingy that you point remote control) terminates into the back of it.Screenshot_2018-10-02-14-41-25-1.png

I suggest pulling the ir receiver out of the wall box to make note of the model number and how its wired. That way you'll know for sure you've got compatible emitter devices and how its wired.

Ok, but what's the model number so you can look up the wiring requirements?

If I was to guess red is positive, black is negative (from power supply) and the drain (bare) wire is the sensor output to go back to the connector box. These wires would go to that green terminal block of the example photo I posted but without manufacture/model number we don't know.
