New Here. Need to make wire longer on simple electronic bike light.

Hello. I'm new here and I have a problem that i'm hoping I can get an answer for.

I just bought a stop light for my bike. I need to extend the wire for the stop light button so that it can reach my handlebars.

The wire looks like simple headphone wires - two small black wires connected.

What kind of wire should I use when I cut and splice the old wire.

thank you - I know nothing about electronics

any help would be great.

Headphone wire is very fine gauge so you could probably just about anything you find that conducts well. If you need a starting point find some 28 AWG stranded wire.
