Need Help w/ a simple project

Hello all,

Firstly, new to anything of electric components so forgive me. But, want to work on a project and hoping for help in identifying what I need. Very simple concept...

• I want to incase a low light LED (used just as a indicator) in a thin metal housing.
• LED is powered by 2-3 coin batteries(incased in housing as well).
• When metal housing is touched, LED comes on. Released it goes out.
• Will be trigger 20-30 times a day w/ battery life expectancy 2 months or more if possible.

Is this doable? ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated...

How big a box? 100% exposed metal on all surfaces, or only certain areas?

This is the easiest way to get started.

Here is a little touch circuit. It's not exactly what you need but it will get you started.

Thanks for replying... metal is only on the top. housing is 3x3 in by 1 in tall. Size of a "post it" pack.

But, light is triggered when any metal area is touched...

is it a simple circuit? its not very complicated though and is very doable.
