Need help figuring out how to drive a motor with pic08m

I believe I have figured out the whole flow chart programing thing so let's just assume all is well I have it set up to send current for 3 seconds now onto my issue I have done a little looking around and can't find a definitive yes or no as to wether or not the pics output could drive a motor. Being completely new at electronics I need my options dummied down for me please. I'm looking to power my project with either 3 or 4 AAs.
Also how do I slow the motor down thanks in advance

Hi,
The Pic can only supply about 25ma, so in general NO, it can't unless it's a very tiny job. You will need to use a trany or even better a FET again depending what current your motor calls for.

Best bet is that you join the PicAxe forum where people answer your questions, even on the same day which I have never seen happen here, this place is dead.
