Hi experts, I need help for study. The question is why is needed to laminate a core in transformer?

From what I know is to reduce eddy current n losses.

Question now is,

how does laminate the core will reduce eddy current?

What is eddy current?
Is it unwanted current?

Coil wind around the core is to increase or decrease in flux?

Counter emf produce eddy current?
