what is it used for? Is it a motor start capacitor? Do you have a picture?

You could try these guys. I have no idea where you are, I just looked up "Washington DC", (since I presumed you might be Barack Obama posting under a pseudonym -- for no reason other than the drugs I'm currently on). These guys have a branch near there (and near lots of other places too).

Take your old cap in there and get their advice. (and on further thought, yours is more likely to be a run capacitor than a start capacitor)

Oh, note that you may be offered a device that has a different voltage rating. As long as the voltage rating is higher than the one you're replacing, you're OK. The major consideration is probably the type of connections it has, try to get the same type -- and remember how the old one was connected! The temperature range is probably not too critical. Something rated for a higher maximum temperature would be better than one rated for a lower temp though. If you live in a place that gets cold, check out the minimum rated temp too. The ones I saw were rated for -40C (-40F).

Thank you. I could not find the exact one on their website and I also could not find a similar one out there. Any suggestions?
