Need a Head Start on a Wireless LCD Display

B

Bubba

Ok, I know this is a big project for a beginner but I am a very good VB.net
and modest C programmer and I am going to learn all I can about
microcontrollers.

I just ordered a programmer, an Econo-LCD Serial Interface Kit , and four
PIC16F628-20/P chips. My initial project is to make a LCD display that
shows data that I will push my PIC through a serial port connection off my
computer. My final goal is to have the serial signal sent to the lcd screen
wirelessly. So in the end I have a device hooked up to my computer that
sends a signal to a remote LCD screen and displays a message.

I know this is a big project and after I buy a few books and get the stuff I
ordered I think I can figure it out but if anyone has a tutorial for a
similar device they know about or a diagram or something to give me a head
start I would appreciate it. I will also take any advice about my under
taking I can get, so bring it on.

Thanks, Joey

Start at www.piclist.com to get the LCD stuff and the serial
connection going. Then check the web for those pre-approved
wireless modules. I forget the companies, but I found 'em with
google.
