Napco LCD keyfob Problem

I recently installed a Napco LCD bi-directional keyfob. All keyfob
functions seem to work well except for the sense mode options. The
remote will arm and disarm the alarm and open and close the garage
door; however, the remote doesn't accurately display the status of the
system when triggered from either contact 5 or 6. The remote status
constantly displays that the alarm is armed (a closed lock icon
displays on the remote). I have manually forced 12v + to both contact 5
and 6 and switched jumpers A and B on and off to no avail. The keyfob
transmitter is connected to an Elk M1G so it is confirued for universal
mode not bus mode. As a result an ID can not be programmed into the
remote as in bus mode. It doesn't seem to be a remote hardware problem,
becuase, both of my remotes respond with the same locked status icons.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you for your assistance if you have any suggestion.

I didn't know the M1 would accept a Napco slaver receiver?
Robert L Bass is the resident expert on Napco around here and I know he has
an M1, perhaps he'll contribute.

Yes, it will. The Napco Universal 2-Way can be used with numerous non-Napco
products, including the ELK M1 Gold.

[blush] I'm one of the "resident experts" on Napco and yes, I do have an
ELK M1 Gold. The problem is most likely a bad Napco transceiver. The unit
is under warranty. The OP called and I arranged to get him a new unit.
Problem solved.

I have purchased the NAPCO 2-way universal receiver and it can be fully
integrated into the M1G; however, the implementation must be
implemented in universal mode not bus mode. With a little creative
thinking, you can use the keyfob to control lights, open and close
garage doors and activate/deactive alarm modes. In universal mode the
unit controls dry contacts that can be monitored by the M1G and in turn
manipulate alarm outputs. The M1G is extremely powerfull and easy to
install. Anyone with some basic hands on alarm experience and a few
hours of time to read the manuals can install a very powerfull script
operated alarm system that can also double as a control unit for a
smart home. With a few basic principals provided by Mr. Bass and 20
hours of work, I completely installed a twenty sensor systems that
monitors my house and controls the hot tub. Thank you Mr. Bass for you
helpful suggestions and your proficient curtious support.

No problem. It's been a pleasure working with you. Thanks for the kind
