Motorola AN-410 wanted

B

Barry Lennox

Has anybody got, or know where I can get, a copy of an old Motorola
App note, 410? The title is "A Unified Approach to Optimum FET Mixer
Design" by Kwok.

I have been Googling and searching for some time, but without success.

TIA,

Barry Lennox

I hate to throw cold water on somebody evidently trying to help, but I'd
really be curious how you can mistake what is obviously an RF Mixer for a
power deflection circuit? How, please?

Looks like I didn't pay attention to the title of the application note.
Sorry,
Mike

Where's Jim Thompson when you need him??? ;-)

I already looked. My RF app-note collection jumps from AN282 to
AN419.

The Applications notes in my 1988 copy of "RF Data, Vol. II" also
jump from AN-282 to AN-419, and my 1966 copy of "The Semiconductor
Databook"--where app notes aren't yet even numbered--is too early.
Maybe this info will help you zero in on which Motorola databook you
need?

Siliconix had an AN-72 "FETs in Balanced Mixers" (July 1983 FET
design catalog) describing an active 2-FET 50-250MHz mixer using U310s
that might be of modest interest -- I'm not sure what you hope to find.
Fig. 5 in the article includes the following notation:
"(from 'FET RF Mixer Design Technique', S.P. Kwok, WESCON Convention
Record (1970) 8/1, p.2.)"

I had my hands on (but passed up) Motorola's 1972 three-volume
Semiconductor Data set this past weekend--wonder if that had it?

Best luck,
James Arthur

More bracketing: You reminded me that I have a 1973 Motorola
Semiconductor Data Library book. No App Notes included, but at the end
there is a list of abstracts of available App Notes. The list jumps from
AN-408 to AN-411.

Maybe AN-410 sucked? Or maybe had information Moto decided, quickly, was
better not shared?

Thanks for the info, I have the 1969 issue of "The Semiconductor
Databook" and it lists ANs 3 to 124 (With many left out)

I also have the Siliconix ANs, they are useful, but I have heard
(about 3rd-hand) that Motorola AN410 is full of good info.

May have been in the 1972 set. It appears not to be in the 1973 set.

The latter could be the case.

Thanks for the bracketing, looks like I'm going to find it, if
anywhere, in 1970-72 material.

Barry.

Sorry I couldn't do better. ISTR Motorola had an RF Design Manual
which I tossed when I got my 1988 set? It's a bit fuzzy, but I recall
being annoyed to discover the new set didn't have all the app notes its
predecessor had.

Best regards,

Do you still want this? I have it in my collection.

Yes please, As another poster suggested, it would be good to scan it
and post it into abse, as there may be others interested. Or, if you
get it to me, I'll do the work.

Thanks,

Barry

Why not scan it and post it on A.B.S.E ??

They say great minds think alike. That is just what I had in mind to do
if the OP (or anyone else) still wanted it. I'll do it on Monday.

There's no menu; you have to place your order!
