Microwave Door Switch

My Frigidaire brand microwave door switch is broken. The specs that was written on the door switch itself says
"16(4)A 250V". I bought a door switch from ebay, but the specs that's written say "16(3)A 250V". Can i use it? I already put the one that I bought, it fits but I never try to turn on and use the microwave. Does it gonna work?

This is a European standard. The first number is the resistive load. The number in brackets is the inductive load. A is Amps.

16(4)A 250V = 16 Amps resistive load, 4 Amps inductive load, 250v.

I wouldn't risk it. The microwave is a largely inductive load.

no designer in their right mind would use a switch in a safety situation like that, where the switch would be running
at it's full ratings

Can you measure the current through the switch?

Can you buy the correct switch from Frigidaire?

The main power transformer.

if you look at those sample circuit diagrams, you will find that it isn't in line with the main transformer

Nobody in their right mind would put a 4 amp switch with a 4 amp load!
The switch is way above the MAX ratingh. USE it, Itr will be fine.
As Dave Said , That is the Maximum rating for that switch.
Use the one you boought., It will work just fine.
