Hey all..
I am working on a 2014 Sprinter van that carries passengers and does tours occasionally.
It has the stock (obviously brand new) Mercedes stereo which I do not want to mess with and I need to equip the vehicle with a "PA System" so that the tour guide can speak over the stereo system. The stereo has an AUX input on the front of the dash and I was wondering what would be the best / safest method to incorporate the MIC line into the stereo. (otherwise the boss said... install a whole new set of speakers just for the PA system, BUT that is a pain in the butt and I'd rather not do that)
The MICs we use are like the big stage MICs and have the larger plugs rather than the 3.5mm headphone style plug.
I am assuming I need to have something like a MIC preamp to go from the MIC to the AUX input.
The main features I would need are the MIC gain adjustment to control the feedback and adjust the volume...
Also, i need to know that I am not going to blow the input on the stock stereo, I'd need some sort of output limiter on the unit to limit the power going to the sensitive 3.5mm input plug.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
