Hello Everyone
Im opening a snack in which i need emergency lights as well as normal lights.

I have a car battery, a 12 v to 240 v inverter, 2 auxiliary contactors, and electricity supply.

I connected the inverter to the battery.. Then 1 contactor.

On the other hand i connected the other contactor to the electricity supply.

As soon as i switch on the invertor and switch on the electrical supply, the invertor is short circuited.

Any help plz to solve my problem?

You need to see while eating your snack?

Did you mean emergency egress lighting for a shack?

Why not just use 12v lighting so you don't have to use the inverter?

You can buy a stand alone emergency lighting relatively cheap.

see an electrician

there are very specific ways to merge 2 different supplies. This is for safety reasons in case something fails and during incoming
mains power blackout your system doesn't accidentally put mains voltage out onto the power lines and electrocute some poor
power technician working on the outside lines

again use correct gear and see an electrician
