Make a simple morse transciever

I just want to make a simple 1/2 mile handheld (8 inch antenna length max) morse transmitter/reciever, I don't care about frequency or anything else.

and in the other direction:

315Mhz RF Wireless Transmitter + Receiver Link Kit
(2 sets!)

Modulate them with a simple 555 circuit.

I don't know if the distance is enough, but could be possible.

you dont modulate the transmitter on a real CW transmitter, you just key it on and off
if he just wants to do MCW yeah then, OK, key a tone generator

Would those work through walls, electrobrains? Because I mainly will be using it in a large building

These frequencies are used by cell phones, garage door openers, and indoor outdoor thermometers. So you can do experiments for your particular building. Anyway I do not believe you would have very good luck with many walls over a distance of 1/2 miles.
