lowering voltage drop

is there any way to lower a diodes voltage drop rate?
I cant find any germanium or schottkies in my area..all I've got is a bunch of 1N4001 to 4007...please help me.

i dont think so, a diode needs minimum 0.65 to 0.7 volts to conduct, depending on type of diode of course! no matter what you try and do, what is it exactly that u want to achieve?

Sure there is, lower the current through it. The voltage across a forward biased diode is proportional to the log of the current.

Are you talking about the reverse voltage drop rate or the forward voltage drop rate?
