Looking for a "camera controller" IC

One of those painful things to me is finding an IC to serve a specific purpose.
What I am trying to do:
Connect DCMI/MIPI cameras, and "convert" that signal to USB Video Class. Then bundle those together with some kind of USB hub controller into an MCPU.

I have a device that does something like this. It's using this IC to accomplish the camera->USB interface (there are 2, one per camera)

The issues are a) The chip is OLD. Like 2014. USB and cameras have come a long way.
b) I can't tell that it's even possible to obtain anymore.

I've found a couple others, from realtek and and this one:

But it's also from 2013 and only supports "VGA resolutions"

Anyone have experience with these, or maybe this type of things has a different name now and my searches are irrelevant.

Have a look here. The sTM32 is a current model of processor.

Oh yeah, I have found that thing. It's very cool, but I can't use it directly. However, if I could determine what IC they are using I could potentially use that, as it appears to be some kind of DCMI -> SPI conversion. Or some method to get multiple DCMI interfaces into an STM32 (multiplex, maaaaybe). But I still need to deal with encoding/decoding, which only the higher end STM32s do (F7 and H7).
A low cost IC that did some of that would be great. But I keep striking out.
