Light Bulbs in the house keep Burning Out

I change about 10 to 20 light bulbs every year,
is there a way to prevent this from happening so often.
Do i need some voltage regulator or what

There are at least two possibilities:

• bad quality of the lightbulbs
• bad quality of the mains voltage supply

A voltage regulator for AC is not a simple thing and using it for the full house's/apartment's power doesn't make things easier. Have you tried LED lamps or CCFL lamps? These have built-in electronics to control the lamp and may be less susceptible to irregular overvoltages of the mains.

What type of bulbs are they?
Are they all the same type?
Is it only one type of bulb causing problems?
Are your neighbours having the same problem?
Are you in a stand alone house or block of flats/apartments?

regular bulbs 50 - 70 W.
all the bulbs in the house are burning out.
Dont know about the neighbors, it is flat apartment

It really sounds like your electric power into your home is poorly regulated, with higher than expected voltage at least intermittently, than the bulbs can handle.

This is odd because my experience with LED bulbs is that they appear brighter than the equivalent wattage they claim. Perhaps your voltage is high which is causing incandescent bulbs to glow brighter than they would be, and shortening their lives.

that sounds like its flickering, that happens with automotive applicants. the power is disconnecting and connecting. a regulator should be a fix it.

@swagguy8 : This is not automotive, it is in a hous or flat, powered by mains. How do you imagine to regulate mains (AC 115 V or 230 V)?

I replace incandescent lights about the same but my house is about 4000sq ft.

I'd say the most likely reason for lower lamp life is the manufacturing quality.

I pay a little more and get Sylvania, philips or GE, rather than Chinese brands.
Cheaper lamps have less filament support and vibration causes them to fail early.
You get what you pay for.

Suggest that you ask you neighbours if they are also having bulb problems.

Have you checked the power supply voltage is correct?
