There's almost nothing "fixable" in these.

Here's the 7 sentence advanced course:

Are there a few black or white lines on the display?
Could be a bad driver chip, bad LCD panel, or bad interconnect.
Try pressing around the edges, if it helps, it's a bad interconnect most
likely.

Totally dark? Try replacing the CCD lamp and/or its power supply.

Any other problem? Try replacing the interconnect, then the driver board,
then the LCD panel.
