LCD Monitor Mod backlight control

I turned my iMac G5 into a computer monitor, except when the computer puts the monitor to sleep, the backlight stays on. I am using a DVI cable to connect from the monitor to the computer. I need a circuit that will detect when a video signal is present that will control the output to the inverter board ON/OFF input. I'm not very familiar with Digital video signals or how to detect them.

Thank you in advance.

Imac G5 LCD Inverter Pin Out

I am currently attempting the same project as you did. I have a iMac G5 (EMC:1989) and I believe that it uses the same inverter as you have. I think the pinouts for the inverter are as follows:

TOP
Pin 6 = GROUND (-)
Pin 5 = 3.0v(+)
Pin 4 = GROUND (-)
Pin 3 = 2.1v - 5.09v(Controls Brightness)
Pin 2 = GROUND (-)
Pin 1 = 12.2v(+)
BOTTOM

If you can confirm these pinouts it would be great. I am having trouble getting my backlight to turn on.

Thanks
