larger gps display screen

I have a magellan sportrax handheld gps and would like to install a larger
screen to flush mount in my boat. Before I open this unit up, I would like
to see what would be involve to achieve this? Have anyone done this and
if so, would you please give me a step by step info on how to achieve this.

I doubt it is posible to simply replace the small screen with a large one.
I'd recommend picking up a couple used laptops from a few generations back
(I recently got 4 for $20 but $25-50 is more typical), install a nav/map
program, and hook up the gps.
