JVC AV-32730 television problem

K

kjo

I have a JVC AV-32730 TV that suddenly while on lost picture and sound and
now has only a clicking relay with power LED flashing at the same time.
The power switch has no effect and if unplugged it will start the same
clicking within 10 seconds of being plugged back in. I suspect power
supply or H def problems. Anybody seen this problem with JVC TVs before.
Any help is appreciated.

Try changing the 1000 mfd filter near the big diode
in the power supply section it should be swelled up at the top.
To the right of the middle relay.

Hi have had a defective flyback, horiz output transistor, shorted
decoupler caps, and various things like that, failed components in the
power supply or any of the scan amplifiers, cause the fault you are
describing.

Rather than guessing at the possible causes, it will take some
troubleshooting to really find the fault.

Thanks for the reply. I found the horiz output transistor shorted and
checked diodes near it and they seem ok. Replaced the transisitor and the
set ran fine for about 10 minutes and failed again with the original
problem. Any ideas on what I shoudl check next? Thanks again

@ this point you may want to ring the LOPT and YOKE to make sure they are
not causing the problems.

You need to check all the components I suggested. Make sure you use the
correct line o/p transistor, it has to have PIV of around 2KV

I have a similar problem, but when I replaced the cap I subbed
slightly weaker opuput transistor for the original, then proceeded t
lose the original just before the set blew up again a couple of week
later.

Anybody have the original number for the output transistor? I'l
provide my own kick to the head...

Thanks in advance,
Adam
