Is this repairable?

Hi all,

I have an 8 input 8 output SMS controller that I got the other day (expensive) I got it all configured spot on then I decided to short out one of the outputs (output 1) of which made a cracking noise. Now the output is staying permanantly on.

I am wondering if this is repairable as of the below pictures (see red arrow going to component with hole in) the component thats blown is labelled J3Y of which might be a transistor?

I am not sure if these kinds of boards can be hand soldered or even if its possible to get a replacement component with the limited amount of info i.e J3Y and no circuit diagram etc

The controller is a RTU5011, 8 input, 8 output SMS controller made by the Chinese company King Pigeon

The other relay controlable outputs seem to work fine still its just output 1 (the rest are 0,2,3,4,5,6,7)

I need all 8 outputs to do with it what I have planned.

Thanks

Yep, that can be fixed. J3Y seems to be an MMS8050 (or just S8050).
It's an ordinary general purpose NPN bipolar junction transistor in a 3-pin SOT-23 package, capable of 25V 0.5A & 0.3W, datasheet here.
I'm sure there are many other part numbers it can be replaced with if the 8050 proves hard to get.

I can't find any specs that indicate the pinout of the original device. The alternative that you have had suggested to you seem to be electrically similar enough to be a suitable replacement.

It seems to be as good as, or even better than the original. I'd be very surprised if the pinouts were different from standard, and looking in the datasheets they're the same.

They both seem to be SOT-23 from the specs, and from an eyeballing of your pictures, the ones in the pictures are SOT-23 too.

I'd say they're going to be physically almost identical (aside from markings)
