is this a Diode? I need to replace what values I should search for?

I have this diode that has 6.0 A.
I need to replace it, but not sure what 6.0 A means.
The input voltage is 6 V 3 amp.
Anyone please. Thank you. Here is the picture.

Both the 'diode' (if that is what it is) and the capacitor to it's left are not properly positioned on the pads. I think you have more problems there than a bad diode.

There was a short I just moved aside so I don't loose it.
