I read that tourmaline crystals can release ions and far infrared in response to heating and cooling (temperature changes) or mechanical compression. Would it also be stimulated by an electrical signal, or would that be almost useless with a whole crystal chunk?
Is this a project that would be possible. Ie. could a small heat source such a resistor turning on and off using a circuit design make any usable ions or far infrared? Or a mechanical system with similar lower power to tumble it or using a solenoid type design to intermittently tap the tourmaline crystal.
Or isn't it going to do anything unless it is heated to hundreds or thousands of degrees or be compressed in an earthquake?
