Inexpensive anti-static spray product (residential)

M

mpm

A neighbor just replaced their carpet with some sort of laminate wood flooring and is now complaining about lots of static electricity. In a prior life, I had come across a company that made an inexpensive anti-static spray that worked great - but now I can't recall the name of the company?

Anyone got any some suggestions?

The product I remember was a "once or twice a year" application.
Although I guess if it had to be applied more frequently, that would not bea deal killer. The flooring is new (Monday), and the problem did not exist before.

If you know a solution (preferably inexpensive), I'd love to share it with my neighbor. Thanks!

Where I used to work they used a conductive floor wax on floors where there were explosives. Try searching on " conductive floor wax ".

The common commercial product is 3M Antistat or Staticide:

You can make your own by adding some fabric softener to water.
Approximately 1 tablespoon fabric softener to 1 cup of water seems to
be the most common mix.

I'll second that. When I lived in Arizona we used Downey and it
worked a charm.
