In-Car CCTV project

Hi all. Sorry I don't post on here much. I do thank you for your help in the past and I hope you might be able to point me in the right direction for the title of this post.

OK... for personal reasons I need to install a CCTV system to cover the whole of the interior of my next car. This is not going to be until this time next year and it will be a Jaguar XF.

I would like it to be as discreet and hidden as possible but covering all four seats so I'm thinking of small cameras in the headlining, or ones that can be made to look like aftermarket microphones for Bluetooth head units or even car alarm sensors. It also need to record sound. Time-stamped would be good and even better if it was GPS stamped too. I'm not asking for much am I? LOL.

It also doesn't need to especially be running every time I'm driving, but I need the ability to start it as and when required, which could tie in by using a wireless switch so I can turn it on remotely when I'm 10 or 20 meters away from my vehicle. I already have a wireless switch and fob to do this with my present dash-cams.

I've been googling everywhere trying to find what I'm needing but there's nothing suitable yet. I've sourced some SD/HDD recorders but it's getting the cameras and microphone(s) connected to it.

Should I be thinking on the lines of a Raspberry Pi?

Any ideas or pointers would be gratefully appreciated.

If they are recorders, they have to have inputs, be it audio, video or both.

What you want is readily on the market in many guises.
Buses, taxis and my van have CCTV throughout.
Mine is 4 channel audio and video. I also wanted discrete.
Naturally, with an OTS setup, cameras look like cameras!.
They are easy to adapt or just buy pin hole cameras and audio boards to replace them with.
My 2nd and 4th cams are wireless. While home or at work, I can see via a wireless screen.
Mine are for security of my tools and van. Only two cameras have been ‘re-housed’. One looks like an air freshner on the vent pointing at the driver. The other is/looks like a handsfree microphone.

It was a lot of awkward wiring and some disassembly was required.
Mine is old now and uses HDDs. It’s working so not a problem yet.

Absolutely. It was fun and also very practical.
I installed two front IR LED units and two rear. Night time is like daylight for about 8 meters.
The world is your oyster!

I've been googling everywhere trying to find what I'm needing but there's nothing suitable yet. I've sourced some SD/HDD recorders but it's getting the cameras and microphone(s) connected to it.

Perhaps take a look at some of the FPV cameras.
Thet can be either PAL or NTSC and have audio as well as video.
Ones I use here are around $15 and can, if required, be connected to a transmitter or other forms of recording/monitoring devices.
170 degree and clear image so maybe not as many required as you may think.
