I need an idea of how to solder to a battery holder...

I have a vintage radio and the battery compartment was shot it holds four "c" batteries so I ordered a new holder from amazon in hopes to fix it. Well the old wires are still there, I'd just like to know how to solder them onto the new battery holder compartment please. I'll send pics as soon as I am able...

it's an old audition transistor radio i hope i can use the new battery holder. the wires from the old one are still connected to the radio so i was hoping to get an idea of how to solder those to the new holder
