I hope someone can give me a little help. I'm hoping to build/buy several 12vdc wireless remote control units for different uses in a fund raiser haunted house. I have found several China made systems on Ebay that will do 1,2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 15,etc. circuits that are cheap ($20 give or take) that would be fine (here's a LINK to one). The problem is that I need to use several of these systems at the same place. I'm pretty sure these systems don't have a way to differentiate themselves from each other (encoder/decoder?) I would think a handy fellow might add in a circuit to do that.
I'm a hobbyist/tinkerer at best. I've built a few fairly simple circuits and just bought an arduino kit (that I haven't had time to play with yet). But I really don't know where to start on using encoder/decoders. To be honest I'm not even sure that's what what I need is called.
So here's my ideal situation. I need a fairly cheap/easy circuit that I could add, perhaps between the tx/rx boards and the main circuit board, so that I could use a dip switch(s) to "mate" each transmitter with it's receiver. I should add that we need a bunch of these (maybe up to 50 I guess). Cost is not a terribly big issue but I can't spend $100 on each of these either. We put on a pretty big haunted trail event every year to raise money for charity. We'd like to up the anti by adding more animatronics and use the remotes so that the tour guides and actors can operate them.
