HP Laserjet III problem

I was wondering if anyone here knows what on earth this is and from where I
can find a replacement.

That looks like the thermal switch. It turns off the heater if it
overheats. I am not sure if anyone sells just that part.

You may be best to buy a refurb'd fuser and use the broken one as a
trade in.

I was able to figure out why my Laserjet doesn't work. Apparently a
component from inside the fuser is broken. Here are some pictures of the
thing:

Your photos are really distant, and out of focus!

For service parts, you must contact HP. For non user parts servicing they
will ask you to send them the printer. They will not sell these types of
parts to the end user.

For user service parts kits, there are a number of aftermarket ones
available, that can be found by doing a search on the web. The original
parts however, are better, and will usually last longer.

A very big thanks to all of you, it was a thermal fuse indeed. _Something_
caused it to burn so I need to dig deeper...

Look at item 43 and see if this looks like what you want. If so you
can click on Item 43 the the below list and it will tell you the name
of the part and the price. This is the Printerworks site and they will
sell you the part. I have a HP LaserJet II and III and this is where I
