If not you get an EEPROM programmer that is compatible with whatever EEPROM chip is in the player and get a good dump or copy of the data that is supposed to be on said chip and reflash it... The Willem programmer is one of the more popular universal programmers for doing this at the hobbyist level... On some players you might be able to do it externally with a JTAG or JTAG like port but that would require you having compatible JTAG or JTAG like interface software that might not be available to the public for any particular device...

A TopWin programmer is also very easy to use and connects to a computer with a usb cable. You would need to find the same model DVD player that is working, remove the eeprom and insert it into the programmer, copy the code using the TopWin software then insert your corrupted ic (if it is still working) into the programmer, erase it, then write the data to it. If your ic is dead, try EN25T80 made by EON.
