How to play Playstation games on real hardware without discs

Hi! I would like to know how I could get to play PS1 games on my Playstation without using any disc, but rather having them as data in hard drive, USB key or SD card, whatever which (so forget about modchip that allow back up discs to be used). I know there is PSIO, but I want to know about alternatives.

Yeah, you're right, that is for sure, I looked up for a good time, but I wondered if electronics experts knew some other way. I will post another question then.

Whilst I don't doubt that it could be done the process would seem to be far more expensive (and complicated) to justify - and that's without the massed legal threats from a very well funded manufacturer!

Sure thing, I guess... For the moment being, I will need to replace my CD drive and get to play the traditional way of burnt copies.
