I guess the op doesn't want to remove the protection circuit. Rather he gets an error message that D-protection has been activated and he wants to resolve this issue.

it appears that DVD domain does not match origin of disk played. Foreign unit.

I'm afraid it is not that simple. D-protection seems to be a generic error message, most likely related to a hardware fault. See the discussion here.
