Help with custom add-on to ITI Simon 2

I have an ITI Simon 2 Alarm. One of the features that is most
inconvenient is that I have very little indication that the alarm in
armed (two little lights on the panel). I'd like to install an
indicator in my hallway that would light up when the alarm is on and
turn off when the alarm is not armed. Any suggestions? I'm thinking
of either a bright LED or something, I can figure out how to get the
light part of things, I just don't know how to get power switched
relative to the armming status of my Simon 2. Any bites?

Obviously, that is NOT what I wanted to hear. Maybe if we thought a
little outside the box? At the VERY LEAST, it seems I could use one
of the sensors (motion, heat sensor, door switch, etc) and used that
component as the switch...
Maybe that is what you mean by PROPERLY? Anyway, still hoping for a
suggestion. Thanks again

The problem is you have a budget panel that only does so much, you need to
upgrade

That would work although you can't program program the length of time the
light will stay on.
