HELP - Please Identify This, BUG?

So, my boss heard a strange buzzing sound coming from behind a picture in his office and found this behind it. It looks like an audio bug to me. Can anyone identify this for sure???

It looks like some cheap EBAY special from China. Does anyone have a clue where this was manufactured? Where it came from? What is is for sure? I am positive it has a microphone on it.

This is a serious violation of law where we work, any information would be very helpful!

It's called a annoyatron. It is a gag gift that is designed to make noise at a set frequency. Some have different noises.

The best thing to do would be to get an "expert" in to check it, and to announce (to the entire office) that whilst it appears to be an "annoyatron", it also carries a secret Chinese industrial espionage bug that even the person who planted it might not be aware of.

Your "expert" could also make claims about the recent rentals of innocent looking empty office space in the current vicinity by parties with known links to the Chinese government that has come to the attention of the intelligence community.

It would be even better if the "expert" can tie whatever your company does to some current military or political interest of the Chinese.

Your "expert" should be well dressed and be introduced as having a background with the military and some "three letter agencies" that he would prefer not to explicitly mention.

Even if you don't find out who planted it, you'll have as much fun messing with their mind as they planned on having messing with the mind of your boss. In fact, if you need an "expert", I would suggest your boss might have friends who might qualify for the job.

edit: clearly your boss needs to be completely in on this.
