Help needed to read old Orcad 2 or Orcad SDT IV

This is a project recently released under the GNU license:

It includes the hardware design and the software for an ambulatory 24h
electrocardiogram monitor (Holter). However, the circuit and pcb
designs were done with old software in 1994 (Orcad 2, or Orcad SDT IV)
and the author says that he does not have that software any more.
Could anyone help to convert those files to a format readable with an
open source software or print the .ps files?. Is there any software
(including modern versions of Orcad) that can read them?. Any help
appreciated.

Unless he also has any home made orcad libraries, you may be S.O.L.

I am sure that there are some older versions of Orcad SDT around. It
seems that Orcad had the ability to generate Autocad DXF files, which
may or may not be any help.

OrCAD v7.20 will read _old_ OrCAD schematics _provided_ you have the
old libraries as well. (At least SDT, I don't remember OrCAD 2

From there, newer versions of Capture will read the v7.2 files.

If you have a licensed copy of a modern version of Capture, it has
been my experience that you can get a v7.2 for free.

E-mail them to me. I'll take a wack at them this weekend. I have old
Orcad and Stone age Orcad and a full set of the standard libraries.

I can easily turn them into DXF drawings. With a bit of work I can make
other formats. DXFs would be an exact image of what the plot would look
like. All other formats will suffer a little in the conversion.

What's your highest res ?

I finally got 1024x768 to work OK ( on a Tseng ET4000 ). I think the driver
was actually on the Orcad site ! Prior to that, Super Vga ( 800x600 ) was
the best I could manage.

I have a 'legacy copy' of SDT 3.12 IIRC.

AFAIK, it will go as high as your card supports.

I remember the ET4000, that was a good solid chipset, worked with
everything.
At the moment, I'm using an All In Wonder Pro 8500dv at 1600x1200

It's in the "adult" section, we got put there when yahoo ate egroups, and
there's apparently no way to fix it.

then demanded personal information from me. Too bad; I am
interested in DOS Orcad and, having previously been in the employ
of Orcad as an instructor for that particular software package,
I would have a lot to contribute to the discussion.

Sure there is. Simply start a new Yahoo group with a name such as
orcad-for-dos, then make an announcement in the old group that you
are moving and that they have six months before the old group closes
down.

Hi!

I've just a look at that myself but the file posted appears to be only source code for the Analyser software!

Has anyone got the actual Orcad SDT III/IV files that the OP referred to that I can look at
please? I've got old Dos Orcad myself and several other programs, and they'd be handy for me to use as practice and to get them redraughted/translated into something like Kicad etc!
