help 20" goldstar crt t.v no contrast

can somebody help me about this the contrast control doesnt

It may be as simple as the contol itself.
Is this a manual knob, a button operating an integrated circuit potentiometer, or a
problem with the control on the remote, which could be a dirty switch contact that's
the cause of the issue?
The model number of the TV might help.
