well here is the story (its short):
I live in 4 floors building, I got neighbors and I also got mail box.
So probably one of the neighbors is son of a ***** so he put garbage and other kind of not-mail stuff into my mail box, maybe he also steal letters and stuff from it.
so to kick his ass (in the best case) I need to know who is it.
I got a clue who can it be but I need an evidence
Its maybe will sound funny, but its a mater of home security, first they start with mail box then they move to other house parts.
Ok, that was the story, now I will explain what I need to build, I am newbie in this, I can solder etc, but I don't know electronics and how all this works...
Basically I want to put camera into the mail box, there is a small hole like 1.5 cm height and 6 cm width, I can fit it there.
The problem is that I can't use regular camera, I have to modify or assemble camera that will suit my needs, and I need help with it.
I want to separate the SD card slot, battery, power button and the record button, to have it attached to a long (~40 cm) cables, because the camera it self will be placed separately in a closed box, but the rest of the details will be placed in the mail box so I will be able to take out the SD card and replace the battery,
I need just to take picture, I don't need video/voice record but if its not an option then fine.
The picture will be taken when someone open the small mail door in front of my mail box, for this I need some kind of "touch" switch or any other switch that will be placed on the back of the door and will touch the second part of the switch to activate the circle (Take picture).
The camera should stay on stand-by and be ready to take pic as fast as possible after the circuit locked.
This is the basic idea, its already too much words so I will just add the list of item that I probably will need:
- camera (good Q)
- on/off switch (optional - power the whole system on/off)
- battery (li-ion, to be able to recharge- mobile phone battery will be the best)
- SD card slot (or any other slot - depends on the camera write mode)
- cables
- some kind of touch switch to work after there is a small opening gap in the front mail box door.
please tell me where can I find this parts and little info about how to put it all together and make it work.
* I can't spend too much money on it, so as cheaper as better.
If there any similar system on the market, please post link.
