Hello my dear friends. My step-daughter told me to come here and ask why her batteries don't last very long. Well I told her that if she continues to buy cheap batteries they wont last long at all. I just need to be able to show her why the batteries don't last long. She won't tell tell me how much money she spends a week on batteries but I know it;s a lot.
Please help me explain that cheap batteries don't last.

We can 'say' that cheap batteries don't last very long. Although that's very often true, it's not ALWAYS the answer.
Different chemistries last different lengths of time... and some batteries that perform amazing in a camera, won't actually out last the competition in a TV remote control.
The links I shared above show a comparison of 30 different common batteries, This would be the ideal thing to show her.
Additionally... you should be looking at it as a function of cost.
If the expensive batteries cost twice as much, then they should give her twice the amount of pictures.
I'm unsure how many she is actually going through, and you may not want to hear this, but as long as the 'cheap' batteries last long enough for the cost... it's worth it.
I would highly encourage her to keep her eyes out for deals though, and pay attention to how many pictures she can take with the cheap pair compared to the expensive pair.
