Hello,names Gary, new here as of 5 mins.ago.I'm restoring 2 ,EA-2 Heathkit amps my uncle put together in 1962.parts wise I've done pretty good still can't find a,
1meg/2watt pot w on/off switch
My questions about the pots in this amp, they are all 1meg/2watt, audio taper.carbon.I'm wondering if I can use a wire wound pot in place of the carbon type as long as the values stay the same? And while chasing all these parts I've seen all kinds of names for said types of pots,like a rotary taper,a logarithmic taper I'm only used to audio+ linear types can any one school me on these different pots +what works

1 MegOhm will be to high for a wirewound potmeter.

Do you really need new pots? Have you tried cleaning them? CRC QD Electronic cleaner, or DeoXit D5.
